Arc Yoga & Massage was founded by Himanshu Kapoor (Hari) in 2014. Himanshu is a Holistic Health Practitioner, licensed Massage Therapist, and a second-generation Teacher of Yoga & Meditation.
At Arc Yoga & Massage, we offer therapeutic massage and traditional Hatha Yoga Classes, a Yoga foundations course, a Yogic Breathing – Pranayama course, and a Meditation Course in Sivananda Yoga lineage. Himanshu Kapoor also teaches cooking classes and shares his knowledge of tasty Indian food.
By closely observing the lifestyles and needs of people in the West, Swami Vishnudevananda synthesized the ancient wisdom of yoga into five basic principles that can easily be incorporated into our own lifestyles to provide the foundation for healthy living. Activities at Arc Yoga & Massage are based around these five principles:
Proper Exercise (Asanas)
The asanas produce physical benefits, as well as mental exercises in concentration and meditation, in order to promote optimum health.
Proper Breathing (Pranayama)
Through specific breathing techniques, this energy is released for physical and mental rejuvenation.
Proper Relaxation (Savasan)
This is a vital part of keeping the body and mind healthy. Yoga teaches three levels of relaxation: physical, mental, and spiritual.
Proper Diet (Vegetarian)
This embodies eating with awareness. A yogi consumes food that has the most positive effect on the body and mind, as well as the least negative effect on the environment.
Positive Thinking and Meditation (Vedanta and Dhyana)
This principle relieves stress and replenishes energy. Meditation is well-known to improve concentration and bring peace of mind and spiritual strength. Meditation is beneficial for everyone, especially those with a hectic, stressful lifestyle.
